The Nexus 1

In probably the last year the model of a mobile phone has changed so dramatically with the increased accessibility and popularity of the smartphone. The iPhone, and less-so the Blackberry, caused the apparent complete obsolescence of the palm pilot, and overtook the now 'daggy' standard mobile which was exemplified by Nokia. Qwerty keyboards became the new 'it' thing, and what point is a phone unless you can check facebook while waiting for the bus of walking across a busy city street? (If you can sense a hint of sarcasm you're correct). But technological evolution must go on and being a gadget geek myself I shamelessly indulge in the consumer playground that is owning a smartphone. More to the point, the below is a video about the design of the new Nexus 1 Google mobile. It looks similar to an iPhone but has advanced technological perks, although useless and vain, that will be marketed to certainly improve your quality of life (sarcasm again). Listen in around the 2:40 mark, where they talk about some new noise canceling technology. I guess that technology has been and always will be the same. We discover and invent new things so quickly that, coupled with our basic human desire to have the most flashy objects surrounding us, our products become obsolete so quickly.
